Watch: FEAR FACTORY Performs New Single ‘Roboticist’ Live For First Time

Blabbermouth ·

Fear Factory performed their new single "Roboticist" live for the first time on 29 August 2026, opening their "Cybernetic Domination" European tour at Tama in Poznań, Poland. The track, released the same day via Nuclear Blast, is the industrial metal band's first release to feature singer Milo Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber, who have toured with the group for almost three and a half years. Guitarist Dino Cazares described the song as marking the start of a new era for the band, blending themes of man, machine and artificial intelligence that Fear Factory has long explored.

"Roboticist" was produced by Damien Rainaud and arrived alongside a cinematic music video directed by Vincente Cordero and produced by Arion Csihar. The Poznań setlist of 17 songs included several live debuts and rarities, such as "Acres Of Skin" and songs not performed since 2001 and 2005. In a separate interview, Cazares discussed the song's lyrical concept about a robot-building "architect of the artificial" and said the band has not used AI in composing their music, despite the technology's presence in modern recording software. The "Cybernetic Domination" tour, with support acts Crystal Lake, Hate and The Nocturnal Affair, runs through to a final show in London on 10 October.

Fear Factory are an American industrial metal band, a style that combines heavy guitar music with electronic sounds. Since forming in the late 1980s, they have often explored the relationship between people and machines, including how technology might change human life.

Guitarist Dino Cazares is a longtime member and a key songwriter. Singer Milo Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber joined the touring line-up after earlier members left; “Roboticist” is the first Fear Factory release to feature them. The band’s record label, Nuclear Blast, releases heavy metal and hard rock music.

The song’s subject fits themes Fear Factory have returned to throughout their career, while its release also introduces the current line-up on record. The band has said it did not use AI to compose the track, a distinction that matters as the technology becomes more common in music-making tools.
