The Witcher 3 Remastered Accessibility Options Include Health Regen, Auto Loot, Infinite Item Durability

Push Square ·

CD Projekt Red has revealed a set of accessibility options coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, shown during the studio's Gamescom livestreams and captured by fans on Reddit. The settings are designed to strip out some of the game's more tedious mechanics, letting players tailor their experience without missing out on trophies, which the developer has confirmed remain earnable even with the options switched on.

The new "Accessibility" tab in the main menu will let players toggle features individually, including health regeneration, automatic looting and infinite item durability, so equipment no longer needs repairing. These sit alongside the game's existing easy difficulty setting, giving newer or less experienced players more ways to progress at their own pace, while veterans can simply switch off mechanics they find like busywork.

New here? Start with this

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a role-playing game from Polish studio CD Projekt Red. Players take the role of Geralt, a monster hunter who travels through a large fantasy world, takes on quests and fights enemies.

Role-playing games often include systems for managing health, collecting items and maintaining equipment. These tasks can add challenge, but some players find them repetitive or difficult; adjustable options let people choose how much of that upkeep they want to handle.

Accessibility settings can help more people play in ways that suit their needs and preferences. They may also make a game easier to approach without removing its wider story or exploration.

The strongest fair case each way — we don't pick a winner.

The case for

These options let players with different abilities or experience enjoy the story and combat with fewer frustrating barriers, while giving everyone more control over how they play. Keeping trophies available means players can tailor the challenge without losing recognition for completing the game.

The case against

Some players may feel that automatic looting, health regeneration and endless durability remove resource management and risk that help make the game engaging. If trophies remain available with these assists enabled, they may also see achievements as less comparable between players using substantially different levels of challenge.
