TrustNordisk Unveils Fresh Deals & Teaser-Trailer For Venice Contender ‘Woman Unknown’
TrustNordisk has announced new territorial deals and released a teaser-trailer for "Woman Unknown," May el-Toukhy's psychological drama set in post-World War Two Denmark, ahead of its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival. The film follows Marie, a nanny about to marry her wealthy widowed employer, whose secret past resurfaces amid the public shaming of women who fraternised with German soldiers during the war's aftermath.
Building on a prior sale to Italy's Lucky Red, new deals have been struck for Benelux, Latin America, Greece and the Baltics, with further territories reportedly close to signing. The cast includes rising Danish actress Mathilde Arcel as Marie, alongside Carsten Bjørnlund, Thorbjørn Hedegaard and Marina Bouras. El-Toukhy is one of only two female directors competing for the Golden Lion this year, and the film will also screen at Toronto, BFI London and Riga film festivals before a Danish cinema release on 4 February 2027.
