Hundreds of passengers have been left stranded at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi as a go-slow strike by aviation workers disrupted flights for a second consecutive day. The action, called by aviation sector unions demanding better working conditions and implementation of a previously agreed deal, has caused lengthy delays and cancellations at one of the region's busiest air hubs, with fresh talks between unions and airport managers due on Monday after Sunday's discussions ended without agreement.

Kenya Airways reported delays of more than six hours due to industrial action by air traffic control workers, forcing it to cancel some departures, apologise to passengers, and waive penalties for those wishing to change flights. RwandAir also cancelled flights over the weekend and into Monday, while travellers described waiting up to 12 hours with little information. JKIA, which handled around nine million passengers last year, has faced repeated strikes in recent years, including a two-day dispute in February over collective bargaining and the use of volunteers.
