Streaming lets listeners play music online, usually through services that count each play. An artist’s total streams can build over time as people listen to their tracks.
The figure reflects listening by a broad audience, while fans and listeners contribute through their plays and by sharing the music. Such milestones can help creators gauge the reach of their work and recognise the people supporting it.
