FromSoftware dataminer Zullie the Witch has examined the two NPC invaders introduced in Elden Ring’s Tarnished Edition DLC, identifying apparent links to earlier characters and enemy designs. The findings matter to fans because they suggest the new content deliberately revisits visual motifs from Dark Souls 2 and may clarify an otherwise obscured Elden Ring character.

Knight Leontiel closely resembles Dark Souls 2’s Lucatiel of Mirrah, sharing her armour, weapon style and a facial burn mark over the left eye. Noble Broken Mask has pale gold eyes and facial features resembling Elden Ring’s perfumer enemies, leading to speculation that he may indicate how Goldmask was intended to look beneath his mask. Zullie also published character-creation slider settings so players can recreate both NPCs.
