Every DC Studios Movie and TV Show in Coming Through 2028 (and Beyond)
Polygon has compiled a running guide to every film and television project coming from DC Studios, the division led by co-chairmen James Gunn and Peter Safran, covering releases through 2028 and beyond. The overview matters because it charts how the pair have reshaped Warner Bros.' superhero output since taking over in 2022, blending new DCU productions with a handful of leftover pre-Gunn projects such as Matt Reeves's next Batman film and an unresolved Peacemaker storyline.
Highlights include Lanterns, an HBO Max series starring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, currently airing; Clayface, a body-horror film starring Tom Rhys Harries and directed by James Watkins, out 23 October; and Man of Tomorrow, next year's Superman sequel featuring David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult and Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, with Rachel Brosnahan, Milly Alcock and others returning. Also announced is The People v. Gorilla Grodd, an eight-episode HBO mockumentary-style comedy following Jimmy Olsen, played again by Skyler Gisondo, investigating a murder involving a psychic gorilla.
In short
- Polygon maps out DC Studios' film and TV slate through 2028

- Man of Tomorrow and Gorilla Grodd series among upcoming projects
Explained simply
DC Studios is part of Warner Bros. and makes films and television based on characters such as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. James Gunn and Peter Safran took charge of the studio in 2022 and began building a connected screen universe, with some stories sharing characters and events.
The new DC Universe, or DCU, sits alongside projects that began under earlier plans, including Matt Reeves’s Batman films. That means upcoming releases do not all belong to one continuous storyline. The slate includes films and series, from superhero adventures to horror and comedy.
These projects matter because they show how DC Studios is organising its screen stories and which characters it plans to bring to audiences. Viewers can follow the connected DCU stories while also watching separate projects that use familiar characters in different settings.
