Sheffield City Council has approved plans to convert a former office building in Attercliffe into a central hub for Yorkshire Ambulance Service. The scheme is intended to bring staff and operational functions now spread across the city together in one location, potentially improving coordination, vehicle availability and scheduling without increasing ambulance capacity.

The approved change of use covers the former Webhelp building at 1 Amberley Street, which provides about 77,330 sq ft of accommodation on a 4.35-acre site, although the wider hub proposal has been described as 94,000 sq ft. It will include training and clinical facilities, staff areas, offices, meeting rooms, storage and garages for preparing ambulances; teams from stations at Batemoor, Longley and Middlewood are among those expected to use it.
