Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has filed a second subpoena request targeting Discord as part of its ongoing legal effort to identify those behind the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. Unlike the earlier, publicly filed subpoenas, this new request asks the court to keep the details sealed, marking a shift towards a more targeted and secretive approach after the original filing drew criticism for its broad scope.

The initial Discord subpoena had sought information on hundreds of thousands of users across multiple servers where the leaked footage circulated, prompting a backlash over its scale. The new filing, submitted on 28th August, reportedly narrows the focus to one newly identified Discord user and additional details on a previously identified individual, alongside further information about specific community services. Take-Two says sealing the document will prevent leakers from being tipped off, though a judge has yet to approve either the subpoena or the request for secrecy. The leaks are believed to have been used to inflate the value of a bespoke cryptocurrency, with the leakers allegedly cashing out around $270,000 (roughly £200,000).
