Razer just released a cute and teensy mobile game controller
Razer has launched the Prio, a small, foldable mobile gaming controller that attaches directly to a phone via USB-C. It is aimed at mobile gamers who want console-quality controls in a highly portable form, folding flat when not in use so it can easily fit in a pocket. This matters as it marks Razer's entry into a new product line dedicated to ultra-portable controllers, signalling further releases in this category.
The Prio works with both iOS and Android devices and fits phones up to seven inches, including large handsets such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. It features a tactile four-way D-pad, face buttons, bumpers, triggers and capacitive analogue thumbsticks designed to resist drift, with USB-C connectivity meaning no separate battery is needed. It supports native mobile games as well as cloud services including Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link, PS Remote Play and Razer's own PC Remote Play, and is available now priced at $100.

Mobile games are played on smartphones, which use touchscreens instead of the physical buttons and sticks found on traditional game controllers. Some players connect a controller to their phone for more familiar controls, while cloud gaming and remote play let a phone stream games running on a remote service or another device.
Razer is a gaming hardware company known for products such as controllers, keyboards and headsets. A foldable controller is designed to make physical controls easier to carry alongside a phone, and support for both iOS and Android means it can work with phones using either of the main mobile operating systems.
The wider context is the growth of gaming on phones and the range of ways to play, from games installed on the handset to streamed games. A new portable controller line could give Razer a place in that market, where size, phone compatibility and support for different services are practical considerations for players.
