Netflix has confirmed that its exclusive preview of Grand Theft Auto 6, released through a partnership with Rockstar Games, has become the streamer's biggest release of the year. The over 20 minutes of gameplay footage marked the first extended look at the game beyond its short trailers, and its runaway popularity underscores how much anticipation surrounds the title ahead of its console launch. It also signals Netflix's growing ambitions in gaming-related content, following a string of hit original films earlier in 2026.

The extended preview drew 31.1 million views in its first four days, outperforming most films and shows on the platform in the same period, and topped viewing charts in more than 25 countries. Alongside the footage, Rockstar revealed new gameplay details, including a redesigned sprint control similar to Call of Duty's, and confirmed that completing the main story alone will take roughly 80 years, with full exploration taking about double that, across a map more than three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2's. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on Xbox and PlayStation on 19 November.
