Microseries Studio and Platform aTwist Officially Launches With First Slate of Originals
aTwist, a new vertical/microseries studio and streaming platform founded by television industry veterans Jana Winograde, Susan Rovner and Lloyd Braun, officially launched with an initial slate of scripted, unscripted and animated originals. The platform enters a growing vertical-video market, positioning itself with what founders describe as a distinct business and consumer model, and has secured content partnerships with producers such as Bradley Bell of "The Bold and the Beautiful" as well as programmers including BET and Kevin Hart's Hartbeat.
The service launched across eight countries, including the UK and US, and is accessible via aTwist.com and a dedicated app on major app stores. New microseries will debut weekly on Thursdays, with viewers able to watch ad-supported episodes for free or unlock full seasons through coins or a subscription. The opening slate spans genres including horror, romance, comedy and thrillers, featuring titles such as "Buried Alive, Back For Revenge," "Hollywood Starlet" and "My Billionaire Kidney."
