Netflix has ordered a live-action series called Ravenloft, based on the gothic vampire setting from Dungeons & Dragons, with acclaimed director Alfonso Cuarón attached as executive producer. The show will explore the origin story of Strahd von Zarovich, a well-known vampire villain from the Ravenloft world, and represents Cuarón's second project with the streamer following his 2018 film Roma. According to Deadline, John August, a screenwriter behind Tim Burton films such as Big Fish and Corpse Bride, has been attached to write the series.
