Deadline reports that Jessie T. Usher, Taye Diggs, Brett Gelman, Torrey Lawrence and Brooke Anne Smith have joined the cast of Syndetic, a psychological sci-fi thriller that has just finished filming in Los Angeles. The project marks the directorial debut of Blake Linder and is notable as a fresh genre offering blending suspense with psychological horror, exploring anxieties about technology's encroachment on human consciousness and identity.

Written by Jayme LaForest, the film follows Richard Thompson (Lawrence), a former Marine struggling with unemployment and addiction, who is recruited by the enigmatic Dr Carnegie (Gelman) into an experimental programme called Neural Hive that uses human brains as nodes in a distributed computing network. As Richard's grip on reality unravels, detectives played by Usher and Diggs investigate whether his account is delusion or truth. LaForest produces via Fall Risk Entertainment alongside Jason Short of Short Films and Linder Productions, with Ryan Broomberg as cinematographer.
