Jenni Rivera’s Iconic Show at Staples Center Now Available: ‘It Was a Great Accomplishment’
A live album capturing Jenni Rivera's landmark 2010 concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles has been released in full on digital platforms, exactly 15 years after the show took place. The performance made Rivera the first female regional Mexican music artist to sell out the venue, and the recording, titled "Mírame Desde Staples Center", is being made available by Virgin Music Group to mark the anniversary and honour her legacy in the genre.
The three-hour concert featured a 45-song setlist spanning banda, mariachi and norteño styles, along with guest appearances from Alejandra Guzmán and Olga Tañón. Jenni Rivera's daughter, Jacqie Rivera, who now leads Jenni Rivera Enterprises, spoke of her mother's nerves before the show and her pride in the impact she left behind. Rivera, known as the "Diva de la Banda", remains the most successful woman in regional Mexican music history on Billboard's Latin charts, having died in a plane crash in 2012 at the age of 43.

Jenni Rivera was a hugely popular Mexican-American singer known for her work in regional Mexican styles such as banda and norteño, genres traditionally dominated by male performers. She built a large following across the United States and Mexico before her death in a plane crash in 2012, at the age of 43. She is widely regarded as the most commercially successful woman in the history of regional Mexican music.
In 2010, Rivera sold out the Staples Center in Los Angeles, a major arena, becoming the first woman in her genre to do so. The show was a milestone for her career and for regional Mexican music more broadly, and it has remained a significant part of her legacy in the years since her death.
Her family has continued to manage and promote her musical catalogue through Jenni Rivera Enterprises, now led by her daughter Jacqie Rivera. Rivera's estate and record labels periodically release archival material tied to key moments in her career, aiming to preserve her influence and introduce her work to new audiences.
