Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found with gunshot wounds in Ecclesall Woods, Sheffield. Police launched a murder investigation and cordoned off the area after a member of the public discovered the body, with officers stationed at the woodland entrance and a nearby road while enquiries continued.

The body was found on or around 3 September near Whirlowdale Road, at its junction with Abbey Lane, on the edge of the popular woodland. A man and a woman were subsequently arrested in Manchester in connection with the death, and both remain in custody as the investigation continues. Police have not yet released further details about the victim or the circumstances of the shooting.
