The HBO adaptation, based on Naughty Dog's 2013 game, has been a critical success since its 2023 debut, holding a 94% critics' score, winning "Best Adaptation" at the Game Awards in 2023 and 2025, and earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. No specific new projects have yet been announced, though Naughty Dog is separately developing an original title called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which recently finished filming its cinematic sequences, with no release date confirmed. HBO, meanwhile, is pressing ahead with further video game adaptations, having tapped Mazin to lead a forthcoming TV version of Baldur's Gate 3.
