Currently in early access only for those who purchased the Deluxe Edition, the game had over 25,000 players on Steam alone at the time of writing, with additional players on consoles. The single-player campaign, featuring six chapters following Michael Myers, can be played offline, but the asymmetric multiplayer mode pitting Michael against survivors requires a stable internet connection. The queue reportedly moves in unpredictable bursts, staying static for stretches before dropping by hundreds or thousands at once, meaning waiting it out is currently the only option for affected players.
