Netflix has confirmed that Mike Flanagan's 2013 horror film Oculus will join its US streaming catalogue on 24 September 2026, giving subscribers a chance to revisit an early highlight from the director's career ahead of Halloween. The move comes as Flanagan's profile continues to rise, with his acclaimed Stephen King adaptation of Carrie due to premiere on Prime Video in early October, alongside a body of work that includes The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher.

Oculus, Flanagan's second feature film, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013 before its 2014 theatrical release and marked his commercial breakthrough, grossing around $44 million against a $5 million budget. The psychological horror stars Karen Gillan and Brenton Thwaites as siblings convinced that a haunted antique mirror was responsible for their parents' deaths, with Katee Sackhoff and Rory Cochrane playing the parents. It holds a 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes and will land on Netflix the same day as House at the End of the Street and the comedy revival A Different World.
