Woodley's win, for her role in Paradise, secured the show's first-ever Emmy, while the series remains in contention for several prizes at the main Primetime Emmys ceremony. Harden Jr. took the guest actor prize for his role in The Pitt, marking a milestone in his decades-long acting career.

Woodley accepted her award in a white mini-dress, thanking her mother in the audience and praising Paradise creator Dan Fogelman and co-star Sterling K. Brown, who is himself nominated for lead actor in a drama series. Harden Jr. was visibly emotional on stage and paid tribute to The Pitt co-star Noah Wyle. This year's Creative Arts Emmys included five categories, such as supporting acting in a limited or anthology series, that were previously part of the main televised ceremony; Sunday's presentations were not broadcast live but will air on 12 September, ahead of the Primetime Emmys on 14 September, hosted by Mariska Hargitay on NBC.
