Police in Scotland have launched a manhunt after a multi-vehicle crash near Edinburgh Airport left one man dead, with three people who were involved fleeing the scene on foot before officers arrived. The collision occurred on the A8 Glasgow Road near Newbridge on Monday morning, prompting a major emergency response and an investigation involving air support and police dogs to trace those who left the area.

The crash, involving a Mercedes A250, a Renault Captur, a Skoda Karoq and a Hyundai i30, was reported at around 9.25am. The 58-year-old driver of the Hyundai died at the scene, while four other people were taken to hospital and later released; two women and a man from the Mercedes left before police arrived and remain the subject of ongoing searches. The road was closed for investigation and vehicle recovery before reopening at about 7.05pm, and police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
