Murder charge after Spanish arrest over Barnet teenage girl’s death

Daily Mail · 54 minutes ago

A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a manhunt that ended with his arrest in Spain, following the fatal shooting of a teenage girl in Barnet, north London. Jamie Duncan is accused of killing Israa Djeddou, 19, who he had reportedly been in a relationship with, in a case that prompted an international search and a public appeal for information involving CCTV images of the suspect.

Djeddou was shot in the face at a property in Dale Grove in the early hours of 9 June, with paramedics reporting hearing gunshots and her family recalling shouting and a scream around midnight. Duncan fled the scene and was arrested nearly 11 weeks later, on 23 August, before appearing at the Old Bailey via video-link from Wormwood Scrubs prison on 1 September, where he was remanded in custody on charges of murder and three counts of firearm possession; a plea hearing has been set for 16 November, with a provisional trial date of 7 June 2027, and the murder weapon has not been recovered.
