Alan Carr shows Carol Vorderman around his new Scottish castle

Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

Countdown star Carol Vorderman recently joined comedian Alan Carr on a visit to a Scottish antiques fair as he furnishes his newly purchased castle in the Borders. The trip is being filmed for a forthcoming Disney Plus series documenting Carr's move into his new home, with Vorderman describing the visit as "stunning" and praising her old friend's "new chapter" in a social media post.

Carr, 50, bought the 17-bedroom, A-listed Ayton Castle in Berwickshire for around £3.3 million earlier this year, after winning last year's Celebrity Traitors at Ardross Castle. He and 65-year-old Vorderman, accompanied by a TV crew, attended the Paxton House Antiques Fair, where Carr was seen buying a life-sized stuffed toy cow, joking that his castle currently contains only "bits from Ikea". Paxton House welcomed the visit on social media, and Carr has separately applied to convert derelict potting sheds on the estate into a 48-seater café and shop, with Scottish Borders Council due to rule on the application by the end of October.
