Marvel is expanding its horror-tinged Doctor Strange lore with "Doctor Strange: Endless Nightmare," a new graphic novel from Abrams ComicArts that sends the Sorcerer Supreme into the depths of the human mind rather than another dimension. Collider has shared exclusive preview pages ahead of the book's release, marking a notable return for the character in a Lovecraft-inspired tale that leans into the surreal, unsettling side of his powers. The project is significant as a fresh, print-based expansion of the Doctor Strange mythos outside the films and mainline comics.

The story begins when Stephen Strange meets a hospital patient convinced that life is "nothing but the dream of a sleeping god," triggering a wave of global insomnia; Strange must enter the man's mind and journey into the Nightmare Realm to stop the chaos. It is written by Kevin J. Anderson, with art by Raúl Allén and Patricia Martín, the same team behind the acclaimed "Dune: The Graphic Novel." Anderson said he wanted to use Strange's access to bizarre realms to craft a Lovecraftian horror story, featuring a major established villain alongside another who hasn't appeared since being created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1964.
