Wanderburg, a roguelike "bullet heaven" game from developer Randwerk, has launched into early access on Steam. Its distinguishing feature is a modular vehicle that combines a medieval castle with a tank, which players customise and upgrade as they progress, offering a fresh spin on a genre popularised by Vampire Survivors.

Players start with a basic castle-tank armed with a single weapon, such as a cannon, and expand it by levelling up. Growth is fuelled by unusual means including hoovering up sheep and cattle, as well as scattering villages and defeating rival fortresses; new modules such as barracks, hammers and alternative wheels or legs can then be attached. The developer has said the early access version contains only the core gameplay loop, with further content and community-driven tweaks planned over the next six to 12 months.
