beatBread Names Andreea Gleeson, Former TuneCore Exec, as Next CEO

Billboard · 3 hours ago

Indie music finance platform beatBread has named Andreea Gleeson, formerly chief executive of TuneCore, as its new chief executive. She succeeds Tracy Maddux, who had been serving as interim CEO following the death of beatBread's founding chief executive, Peter Sinclair, in August 2025. Gleeson's appointment marks a leadership transition for the fintech firm, which provides capital to independent artists and labels without requiring them to give up ownership of their music.

Gleeson joined TuneCore in 2015 and became its chief executive in 2021, overseeing its expansion into new markets and the launch of its TuneCore Accelerator platform. At beatBread, which has issued roughly $100 million in advances across around 2,000 transactions since its founding in 2020, she will lead efforts to deploy $124 million raised last year from investors including Citi and Deciens Capital, scaling the company's AI-driven underwriting technology, known as chordCashAI, into international markets. Maddux will remain involved through the transition, and both he and Gleeson have joined beatBread's board of directors.
