A female PE teacher, Bronwen James, 30, has been convicted at Winchester Crown Court of sexually abusing a teenage male pupil, after previously pleading guilty to a string of similar offences against two female pupils. The case is significant because it shows a sustained pattern of grooming and abuse by a teacher across two different schools, with prosecutors describing it as calculated, predatory behaviour rather than a single lapse in judgement.

James was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust, involving a boy who said she insisted he call her "miss" and with whom she had sex three times, including after watching Wimbledon together. She had already admitted nine further charges relating to two female victims at Bitterne Park School in Southampton and Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, contacting and grooming pupils via Snapchat before abusing them in her car or at her home. The jury reached its verdicts after just over 12 hours of deliberation; James was granted conditional bail but will be remanded in custody on 14 September ahead of sentencing.
