Instagram has introduced a feature allowing users to promote photos they have been tagged in to their main profile grid, rather than leaving them confined to the separate Tagged tab. This gives users greater control over their public-facing profile, letting them showcase group photos, collaborations with other creators and personal memories even when the original post was made by someone else.

Users can add a tagged post to their grid via the DM notification received when tagged, the three-dot menu on the post itself, or by pressing and holding the post within the Tagged tab. Visibility of any added post still depends on the privacy settings of both the user's account and the original poster's account, and tagged posts can be removed from the grid at any time without deleting them entirely. Added posts appear in reverse-chronological order by default, but can be manually reordered, building on Instagram's broader profile-reordering feature introduced in June.
