HBO will broadcast a filmed version of the acclaimed comedy play "Oh, Mary!" in 2027, with writer and star Cole Escola reprising the lead role of Mary Todd Lincoln. The announcement came via a comic teaser trailer featuring Escola alongside "Sex and the City" actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon, underlining the growing trend of hit stage productions finding wider audiences through television broadcasts.

The special was filmed during a live performance in London on 28 July 2026, capturing the West End run of the show, which began life on Broadway. Escola is joined by a cast including Giles Terera as Abraham Lincoln, Bianca Leigh, Tony Macht and Michael Urie. The 80-minute one-act dark comedy, directed by Sam Pinkleton (who also directed the original Broadway staging), reimagines Mary Todd Lincoln's suppressed desires and turmoil in the lead-up to her husband's assassination.
