E!'s reboot of "The Real Housewives of New York City," titled "The Golden Life," has been given a premiere date and first trailer, marking the return of the franchise's original cast in a new setting. The 90-minute special will air on 20 October, moving the "golden" era Housewives from their long-time home on Bravo to E!, and following them as they navigate life in Palm Beach, Florida.

Season one stars Kelly Bensimon, Countess Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer, with former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Margaret Josephs and "Sex and the City" author Candace Bushnell joining mid-filming for extra episodes set in the Hamptons, due in 2027. Jill Zarin was originally cast but was dropped after criticising Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime Show, with Medley taking her place; the move follows a turbulent recent history for the "New York City" franchise, which was overhauled with a new cast for season 14 before season 16 launched on Bravo this week.
