Rising country-pop singer Stella Lefty has become a major talking point online, first over accusations that her success was bankrolled by her billionaire father, and now over claims she has borrowed too heavily from other artists' songs without proper credit. The 24-year-old, born Stella Lefkofsky, shot to fame with her single "Boston", which reached Number Two on the Billboard Hot 100, but her rapid rise has attracted intense scrutiny of both her background and the originality of her work.

Lefty's father, Groupon founder Eric Lefkofsky, is worth $5.8 billion, fuelling "industry plant" and "nepo baby" accusations that her manager, Adam Alpert, has firmly denied. Separately, "Boston" drew comparisons to Noah Kahan's "Stick Season" after fans noted similarities before its March 2026 release, prompting the track to officially credit Kahan's song as an interpolation; Lefty has said she was not consciously drawing on it while writing. Further scrutiny followed a Vanity Fair profile published in August, with online sleuths also pointing to her interpolation of the Chicks' "There's Your Trouble" on her new album.
