A branch of River Island at The Moor shopping centre in Sheffield has permanently closed, marking another high street departure from the city centre retail area. The closure had been announced earlier in 2026, and the shop shut its doors on Tuesday, 1 September 2026 following a closing-down sale.

Signage left in the store's window thanked customers for shopping there and directed them to RiverIsland.com or other nearby branches. The closure comes shortly after a neighbouring Pound Bakery outlet in The Moor also shut down, adding to a run of closures in that part of Sheffield city centre.
