‘Uptown Prep and Downtown Weirdness’ Meld in J. Crew and Ekhaus Latta’s New Limited-Edition Collection

Variety · 2 hours ago

J.Crew has partnered with New York fashion label Eckhaus Latta on a limited-edition, 27-piece collection that reimagines the American retailer's classic prep-school staples with a downtown, avant-garde twist. Designed by Eckhaus Latta founders Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, who drew inspiration from J.Crew's 1990s-era catalogues, the collaboration builds on a successful fashion-week project earlier in the year and reflects both brands' growing overlap within New York's fashion scene.

The collection reworks familiar J.Crew pieces including barn jackets, chinos, rugby shirts, pleated skirts and Rollneck sweaters, alongside asymmetrical shirting, marled knitwear and colourful sweater sets, with prices ranging from $75 to $650 and a miniature Rollneck extending the line into J.Crew's kids' range. It follows February's "Rollneck Remix" project, in which Eckhaus Latta's version of the sweater sold out quickly. The collection launches on 15 September at J.Crew.com and select stores, with early access from 9am ET and general release an hour later, and will be celebrated with a New York Fashion Week party on Friday night.
