Taylor Sheridan Is Officially Fixing ‘Yellowstone’s Biggest Sequel

Collider · 3 hours ago

Taylor Sheridan is set to take a more hands-on role in the second season of "Dutton Ranch," the Yellowstone spin-off, following the departure of series creator Chad Feehan. The move matters because the first season, while well-received, was noted for lacking some of Sheridan's signature style, as it marked the first time dialogue for lead characters Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler was written by someone other than him.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, star Kelly Reilly said she and the writers' room are now consulting Sheridan on the direction of the next season, describing it as something the show "earned" through its first-season success. The exact scope of his involvement remains unclear, whether behind-the-scenes guidance or direct writing or directing work, but the news comes as Benjamin Cavell takes over as showrunner and the wider Yellowstone universe expands with a crossover into "SEAL Team".
