Chase Infiniti follows up her breakout in "One Battle After Another" with a strong lead performance in "The Julia Set," a romantic drama from writer-director Niki Byrne that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. The Variety review praises both Infiniti's portrayal of a maths prodigy drawn into an ill-advised affair with her teaching assistant and Byrne's skill as a filmmaker, calling the film "nothing-short-of-terrific" and confirming Infiniti's star potential.

Infiniti plays Julia Fischer, a freshman maths genius who becomes romantically involved with her TA Pascal, played by Christopher Briney, despite the obvious risks of a student-teacher relationship. Pascal, subtly competitive with Julia's talent, draws her into an advanced study group run by the demanding Dr Zatlan (Nina Hoss), which is training for the notoriously difficult Putnam Competition, a 12-question maths test that could secure Julia a place at MIT.
