The World of Warcraft “Classic+” rumours were true and it’s called World of Warcraft: Forever
Blizzard has confirmed World of Warcraft: Forever, the long-rumoured "Classic+" project, unveiling it during BlizzCon 2026's opening ceremony after weeks of datamined speculation. Rather than replacing existing versions, Forever is positioned as a new permanent pillar of the game alongside Modern WoW and Classic, set in the game's original continents at a level 60 cap, in a lore window after the Forsaken Kingdom campaign but before Molten Core.
The expansion launches globally on 4th November, with beta access opening to pre-purchasers of upgrade packs on 17th September. It will include three new zones at launch, over 1,000 new quests, nine dungeons, two raids catering to 10- and 20-player groups, new races and classes including the new Skyborne, and is included free with an existing subscription, though optional Skyborne Heroic and Epic upgrade packs offer early access, beta entry and cosmetics. It was one of several major announcements at the ceremony, alongside Diablo 5 and a new open-world StarCraft shooter.
