Father-of-22 Noel Radford loses out on share of his mother’s £600,000 fortune after his stepfather left the cash to their cleaner

Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

Noel Radford, the father of Britain's biggest family and star of Channel 5's 22 Kids and Counting, has missed out on a share of his mother's £600,000 estate after his late stepfather left almost all of it to their cleaner rather than to Noel and his brother as his mother had reportedly intended. The case highlights how inheritance can be redirected after a surviving spouse's death, even when the original testator had different wishes, leaving families without legal recourse despite stated intentions.

Radford's adoptive mother, Val, died in 2019, and it was expected that half her estate would eventually pass to him and his brother. However, after his stepfather Clive died in 2024, a solicitor revealed that 99 per cent of the money had instead gone to a cleaner who visited once a week, with the remainder split between Clive's family and charity. Radford, 55, who lives in Morecambe, Lancashire, with his wife Sue and their 22 children, said the situation was "never about the money" but that it contradicted his mother's stated wishes.
