Anime’s Biggest Mystery Hit Officially Gets a New Game
Koei Tecmo and Gust have officially announced The Apothecary Diaries: The False Imperial Brother, the first console game adaptation of the hit anime and light novel series. The game will bring an original mystery story, conceived with input from original author Hyuganatsu, to players who follow protagonist Maomao as she investigates palace intrigue using her medical knowledge and sharp observational skills.
The mystery adventure sends Maomao through the rear palace, pleasure district and capital city, tasking players with investigating strange incidents, gathering evidence and presenting theories to solve overlapping conspiracies dubbed the "Five Mysteries" and "Five Curses". It is due for release in early 2027 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, though a precise release date has not yet been confirmed.
