Colchester United's Under-18s were pegged back by a stoppage-time equaliser as they drew 3-3 with Sheffield United's youth side in the Professional Development League. Joe Dunne's young side twice came from behind and had looked set to claim a notable win over the Northern section leaders after going 3-2 ahead with around 15 minutes left, only to concede deep into added time.

Colchester took the lead through Noah Kalema, Josh Adesanya and Dre Henry, while Sheffield United replied via Corvarne Leon, Alfie Booker and, crucially, a late header or finish from Shakeel Charles in the third minute of stoppage time, set up by a cross from Eddie Roberts. The match was played in poor weather conditions, and the result meant Colchester's under-18s were denied what would have been a hard-fought victory over the division's top side.

  • Colchester U18s draw 3-3 with league leaders Sheffield United
  • Colchester led 3-2 before conceding a stoppage-time equaliser
  • Goals from Kalema, Adesanya and Henry not enough for the win
