A drunk woman who narrowly avoided crushing a man's head after her car flipped over outside a Birmingham pub has been spared a prison sentence. Sharon Gall, 32, from Northfield, reversed her Volkswagen Golf at speed outside the Cock Inn in Bartley Green after being ordered to leave following an altercation, colliding with another car and causing it to overturn. Footage of the incident showed a man being sent sprawling into the road as the car flipped, narrowly missing his head, though he escaped injury.

Gall was found to have 171 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, more than double the legal limit of 80. Another woman involved was taken to hospital, though her injuries were not thought to be life-changing. Gall admitted dangerous driving and drink-driving at Birmingham Crown Court and received a 15-month prison sentence suspended for two years, an 18-month driving ban, 25 days of rehabilitation activity and a 90-day alcohol abstinence requirement.
