Precious Metal Productions and Black Fawn Distribution, two Canadian independent film companies, have agreed a three-picture genre film slate together. The deal, announced at TIFF, is a significant milestone for Precious Metal Productions, which was only launched in January 2026 by producer Christopher Giroux and actress-producer Ann Pirvu, and pairs it with an established distributor known for backing commercially successful genre titles.

The first project will be a horror film directed by Giroux from a screenplay he co-wrote with Pirvu, with production due to start in early 2027. Giroux has previously produced horror titles including Anything For Jackson and The Heretics, while Black Fawn Distribution, run by filmmakers Chad Archibald and Cody Calahan, has recently expanded into international sales after its film The Undertone was sold to A24 following a bidding war.
