Snap is launching Specs Intelligence, an AI assistant designed to connect digital accounts and anticipate tasks involving work, travel and personal responsibilities. The service will debut alongside Snap’s Specs augmented-reality glasses, but is already available as an iOS preview, with wider Mac access planned through a waitlist.

Specs Intelligence can connect services such as Gmail and Slack, using a combination of US-hosted open-source models and local language models. Snap says it can surface meeting prompts, organise travel details and flag conflicts across devices, while insisting connected personal content will not train its AI or support personalised advertising. However, gaining user trust and handling sensitive information remain significant challenges.
