Consequence · 39 minutes ago

Chad Gilbert, the guitarist and co-founding member of New Found Glory, has died at the age of 45 following a prolonged battle with cancer. His death marks a significant loss for the alternative rock scene, as Gilbert had been integral to shaping the band's sound and identity for nearly three decades.

Gilbert was first diagnosed with a rare adrenal gland tumour in 2021, initially identified as a pheochromocytoma. The cancer progressed to stage 4 adrenocortical carcinoma, spreading to his spine, lungs, back, and brain, and requiring multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. He died peacefully in his sleep on 20 September, surrounded by his wife Lisa and mother Jackie. He is survived by his wife, daughter Lily, his mother Jackie, and his brother Brian.
