Presley Gerber, son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died aged 27 at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and TMZ. The cause of death had not been disclosed, while his death highlights the serious impact of substance use and mental-health difficulties on his family.

His sister, model Kaia Gerber, recently discussed his drug use and mental-health struggles, saying they influenced her tendency to avoid asking for help. Presley had previously spoken publicly about night terrors, panic attacks, opioid-use treatment and benzodiazepine medication, and had expressed gratitude for his father’s continuing support.
