South Korean comedy-drama remake “The Intern” led weekend admissions from 18–20 September, while “The Odyssey” retained the revenue crown. The result highlights a distinction between ticket sales and takings, with the local release attracting more viewers but Nolan’s epic earning more overall.
“The Intern” sold 275,183 tickets and grossed $1.9 million, compared with “The Odyssey”’s $2.3 million from 256,789 admissions. “The Intern” has reached $2.8 million from 403,903 admissions since 16 September, while “The Odyssey” has amassed $91.1 million from 11.2 million viewers since 5 August. “Obsession” placed third with $1 million, followed by “Resident Evil” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”.
