Sheffield City Council is backing an almost £800,000 project to create dedicated special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) facilities at Watercliffe Meadow Primary School. The scheme is intended to provide more suitable local support for children with additional needs, reducing pressure on existing provision and helping pupils remain connected to their neighbourhood school.
The project involves building a stand-alone educational facility, creating an outdoor recreational area and adapting or extending associated services. A contract worth £792,980 was awarded to RH Fullwood, with the work forming part of Sheffield’s wider effort to expand specialist places and deliver SEND support closer to children’s homes.
