Google has unveiled premium Googlebooks from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo, all available for pre-order. The laptops are intended to distinguish Googlebooks from conventional Chromebooks through higher-end hardware, long battery life and a shared Glowbar light feature, although their practical differences largely come down to design and form factor.

All five models include at least 16GB of RAM and are rated for up to 14 hours of video playback or 16 hours of web browsing. Acer, ASUS and Lenovo use Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 3 processors, while Dell and HP use Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chips; prices and designs vary, with Acer’s 14-inch convertible starting at $899 and ASUS’s lighter, more premium-feeling model costing $1,299.
