The classic SNES RPGs Lufia and Lufia 2 will return on PS5 next year in a collection published by Clear River Games in partnership with TAITO. The release matters as a revival of a respected but short-lived Japanese RPG series, offering longtime fans a nostalgic return while introducing the games to a modern audience.

Lufia follows destined heroes battling the world-ending Sinistrals, while Lufia 2 is a prequel featuring the notoriously difficult optional 99-floor Ancient Cave dungeon. The first game was never officially released in Europe, whereas Lufia 2 was released there under the confusing title Lufia; the new collection, Lufia I & II The Sinistrals Saga, will include unspecified enhancements for modern play.
