Anjanette Comer, a prominent 1960s film and television actress, has died at the age of 86 on 28 May at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, following a battle with leukaemia and heart issues. Comer was born on 7 August 1939 in Dawson, Texas, and rose to prominence rapidly after early television appearances on shows including "My Three Sons" and "The Donna Reed Show," earning an Emmy nomination for her work on "Arrest and Trial." In a 1981 interview, she revealed that she had rejected both major film roles because of a relationship with an actor who opposed her working in cinema, and acknowledged that she had "hated her career," struggling emotionally with sudden stardom after becoming an instant movie star without building her career gradually as most successful actresses do.
