The T.J. Martell Foundation raised more than $3.2 million for cancer research at its 51st Annual New York Honors Gala, the event’s strongest result in over 20 years. Held at New York’s Cipriani 42nd Street, the sold-out gala honoured Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw with its Lifetime Music Industry Award.

Dave Matthews presented the award to Capshaw, his longtime manager, and performed an acoustic set, while Chris Stapleton and Trey Anastasio also performed. The fundraising total was supported by Capshaw’s philanthropic network and the wider music industry, with organisers stressing that the money will help scientists pursue promising research and improve cancer treatments and outcomes.
